With the Village of Glaslough’s wonderful success in the Tidy Towns National awards 2019, it certified us eligible to enter into the Communities in bloom awards 2021/22. This program is a non-profit national organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with a focus on the promotion of green spaces in community settings.
With this year 2021 theme being "Hope is Growing" and the colour yellow (the colour of hope) this theme seems very apt after the difficult year that has just passed.
The year 2022 theme is "The year of the garden" and the colour Red.
The Year of the Garden 2022 is a unique opportunity for a municipality to engage people and the community to highlight and impact priorities such as:

In October 2022 a delegation from our Glaslough Tidy Towns group and Monaghan County Council made the trip to Canada to represent Ireland in the world Communities in Bloom competition finals.
Glaslough representing Ireland was up against Alba, Intiga, Italy Lewisburg, WV USA Oudenaarde, Belgium Velika Polana, Slovenia with Glaslough winning the overall International award.
