Glaslough Tidy Towns
Awarded Overall Tidy Towns Winner 2019
Welcome to 'Beautiful Glaslough'. The tidy towns was established in 1965 and has been entering the National Tidy Towns ever since. Glaslough first won the Overall Tidy Town award in 1978 and since then have won many County and National Awards and special award winners. On the 30th of Sept 2019 Glaslough won back this title 41 years later.
In 2019 Glaslough foughy off over 917 towns and villages and won County, Gold medàl, Regionaĺ, Ireĺands Tidiest Village and the Overall Award and title of Irelands Tidiest Town 2019.
In 2018 Glaslough won Irelands Tidiest village with more than 860 entrants. This was an excellent achievement. Glaslough also won a Gold Medal award in the Entente Florale Europe Competition 2017.
Glaslough Village is an oasis of calm tucked away between counties Monaghan, Armagh & Tyrone. We hope you will love our village as much as we do. The name Glaslough translates from Irish as the 'calm or green lake' in reference to the beautiful lake situated within the Castle Leslie Estate. There is a very strong sense of community in Glaslough, and a tradition of volunteering. There are 12 voluntary groups in the village all working to improve the area and the people who live here. The community works hard to pass this spirit to the next generation, to ensure that Glaslough continues to be a special place to live and visit.
